B / Rescue Engineering

When technology gets stuck, bring it back to life.

AI-assisted development and vibe coding have radically changed how quickly software can be created. Applications that once needed a team can now appear in an afternoon. That is genuinely useful.

But a prototype that works beautifully in a demo can stall when it meets real-world data, complex integrations, security requirements, undocumented dependencies or the need for long-term maintenance. Meanwhile, established systems become trapped in outdated frameworks, abandoned codebases and architectures nobody wants to touch.

HHRL investigates, understands, repairs, modernises and extends existing technology — whether it was written decades ago or generated with AI yesterday. We trace failures through the complete system, its requirements and dependencies, rather than patching symptoms in isolation.

“Not every broken system needs to be replaced. Sometimes it needs someone who can understand what it was meant to do, identify what went wrong, and engineer a path forward.”

Initial assessment

Not every system can be recovered, and we won't pretend otherwise. Every rescue starts with an initial assessment that establishes feasibility, risk and the most sensible route forward — which may be repair, staged modernisation or, occasionally, a clean rebuild.
